Motor controller

Our motor controller allows the extremely flexible operation of motors, typically for substrate rotation, movements of storage racks or transfer equipment.

The motor may be operated either manually through the cable remote control, or via remote commands from iControl or other control infrastructure, selectable via the rotating switch. Standard functions on the cable remote include a rotation knob for direct, extremely precise operation of the motor, buttons for constant velocity forward, backward and stop, and incremental positioning via a toggle switch, either to the next azimuth in substrate rotation, or the next shelf position when operating a sample rack.

Limit switches or light barriers ensure operation within the safe boundaries of the physical range of motion. An interlock input allows the blockade of the motor at any time, bypassing all other control electronics, as does a kill switch on the cable remote. A homing button on the cable remote lets you home the motor at any time to ensure perfect position calibration.

Motor behavior or the configuration of the cable remote control may be updated via the maintenance interfaces at any time without even having to turn off the unit. Max torque, speed and acceleration/deceleration can all be configured via the maintenance interfaces to provide protection for sensitive mechanical components. The power stage of the motor may be temporarily turned off via the enable / disable switch to manually turn the motor without it losing its control connection or calibrated position.
